On 25 August 2025, a phone call took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov.
During the conversation, the parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation and emphasized the importance of interaction on the international political stage, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The ministers reviewed upcoming bilateral contacts, including consultations between the foreign ministries. Both sides agreed to continue an active political dialogue, including negotiations at the level of foreign ministers, in line with the Cooperation Program between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation for 2025–2026, signed in Ashgabat in June of this year. ///nCa, 25 August 2025
