The Taliban government in Afghanistan remains committed to the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India transnational gas pipeline project.
“Negotiations are underway on this [TAPI], we really want the work on the TAPI project to continue,” Jamal Nasir Garhwal, Charge d’affaires of Afghanistan in Russia, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to the diplomat, currently the leadership of the Taliban government positively assesses the security situation.
“There are a lot of those who interested at the moment. The most important thing is that we are very pleased with the security situation. There are no threats that were there before,” he stressed.
Earlier, Deputy Minister of Economy of Afghanistan Abdul Latif Nazari told that his country is working to attract investment in the TAPI project, which will contribute to the development of the country’s economy and is important for trade and transit of Afghanistan and the region as a whole.///nCa, 13 May 2022
