The capital recently hosted the “Young Engineer 2026” intellectual competition, bringing together nearly 200 talented young engineers and programmers from across the country.
The event was organized by the Ashgabat City Committee of the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, the Main Education Department of Ashgabat under the Ministry of Education, and the Ashgabat City Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization.
Held at the premises of the “Ojar Aziýa” company, students in grades 7–12 competed in team and individual categories, showcasing innovative projects in smart manufacturing and service technologies.

The practical trials were a particular highlight: in the “Robotics” category, participants had 2.5 minutes to program robots to collect and sort balls. Simultaneously, in the “Young Coders” section, students above the 8th grade presented original games and applications developed using the Scratch programming language.
The most spectacular stage was the “BattleBots” competition, which was open to all participants regardless of age.
Organizers noted that such events clearly demonstrate the success of ongoing educational reforms and open new horizons for youth development.
According to the panel of judges, the first-place winners are:
- Smart Manufacturing and Service Technologies: Aylar Amanova and Nepes Jorakulyev (Ashgabat International School);
- Robotics: Aznavur Cholukov (Specialized Secondary School No. 97 of Ashgabat with intensive language studies);
- Young Coders: Ata Goshayev (Balkanabat branch of the “Kämil bilim” Education Center);
- BattleBots: Yusup Geldiyev (Specialized Secondary School No. 135 of Ashgabat with intensive English language studies).
The top five participants in the “Robotics” category earned the right to represent Turkmenistan at the “First Global Challenge 2026” World Championship. It is worth noting that last year, at the same prestigious forum in Panama, Turkmen students emerged as winners in the “Skills Challenge” category.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the winners were awarded certificates of honor and valuable gifts from the organizers. Participants expressed their sincere gratitude to the Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar for creating the necessary conditions for the intellectual growth and creative potential of the younger generation. ///Young Naturalist NGO, 27 April 2026
