JSC “Uztemiryo’lkonteyner,” the operator of the container fleet for the Uzbekistan railways, successfully organized regular container shipments from Uzbekistan to European countries in 2025 via the seaport of Turkmenistan on the Caspian Sea – the Port of Turkmenbashi.
In total, 18 block trains carrying mineral fertilizers, potassium, carbamide, aluminum, and copper were dispatched, according to Uzdaily.uz.
Thus, throughout the year, 380 containers were shipped from the Sergeli station, 228 containers from the Nazarbek station, and 25 containers from the Assake station. The cargoes were directed to Italy, Greece, Türkiye, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Azerbaijan, and a number of other European countries.
The tasks for establishing regular block train traffic from Uzbekistan to the ports of Turkmenistan, including the Port of Turkmenbashi, are fixed in the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 31 December 2024 “On Accelerating Transformation Processes in the Railway Network.”
The launch of block trains along the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan – Port of Turkmenbashi route holds strategic importance for expanding Uzbekistan’s export potential, diversifying the transport and logistics system, and enhancing competitiveness in international transport corridors.///nCa, 16 December 2025
