Turkmenistan has wrapped up 2025 with strong performance across its industrial sectors, as numerous enterprises exceeded their annual production goals. A standout achievement came from the Mary State Power Station, one of the largest and most advanced energy facilities in Central Asia.
In 2025, more than 12 billion 505 million kilowatt-hours of electricity were produced in the industrial zone of the Mary power station, significantly exceeding the planned targets. This is reported by the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan,” citing data from the station.
The success is largely attributed to the plant’s modern infrastructure, including a major combined-cycle gas turbine unit with a capacity of 1,574 MW — the largest in the region. Commissioned in 2018, this unit significantly boosts overall output and efficiency compared to traditional thermal plants.
Located on the banks of the Karakum River, the Mary facility benefits from abundant natural gas supplies and water resources. Round-the-clock operations enabled consistent daily output exceeding 40 million kWh, demonstrating high operational reliability.
The total capacity of the Mary power station, commissioned in 1973, is 2985.7 MW. ///nCa, 5 January 2025
