The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Turkmenistan has announced the extension of the policy of temporarily reduced visa fees for Turkmen citizens until 31 December 2026. This measure is aimed at further simplifying travel and strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
According to the official statement from the diplomatic mission, the reduced visa tariffs remain in effect without changes. The visa fee amounts for Turkmenistan citizens are as follows:
- Single-entry visa — US $ 41;
- Double-entry visa — US $56;
- Multiple-entry visa for six months — US $206;
- Multiple-entry annual visa — US $ 386.
At the same time, the Chinese Embassy has expanded the scope of the policy exempting applicants from the fingerprinting (biometric) procedure when submitting visa applications. From the present moment until 31 December 2026, all applicants for short-term visas allowing stays in China of up to 180 days inclusive are exempt from submitting biometric data.
Exceptions remain for certain visa categories that involve long-term stays and subsequent obtaining of a residence permit in China. In particular, the fingerprinting requirement continues to apply to visa types D (permanent residence), J1 (long-term journalists), Q1 (family reunification with long-term stay), S1 (accompanying family members for long-term stay), X1 (student visa for long-term study), and Z (work visa).
