On 22 December 2025, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted the presentation of the book “Hakyda göwheri” (The Pearl of Truth) by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, translated into the Azerbaijani language. The translation was commissioned by the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.
The event was attended by the senior officials and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, heads and representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in the country, heads of Turkmenistan’s diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, faculty and students of the Institute, as well as media representatives.
The presentation featured speeches by:
- Myahri Byashimova, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan;
- Gismat Gozalov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan;
- Annamuhammet Sardjayev, Chairman of the Mejlis Committee on Social Policy and Chairman of the Turkmen-Azerbaijani Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group;
- Gulshat Yusupova, Rector of the Institute of International Relations;
- Kakadjan Janbekov, Scientific Secretary of the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature, and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.
The event was moderated by Begench Myatliyev, Pro-rector of the Institute of International Relations.
In his speech, Ambassador Gozalov emphasized that the publication of “Hakyda göwheri” for Azerbaijani readers is of particular significance. He noted that the book makes a major contribution to strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties, providing the Azerbaijani audience with a comprehensive picture of the history, spiritual values, and the development of science, education, and culture in Turkmenistan.
The diplomat stated that the translation of the book gives a new impetus to literary and cultural cooperation and strengthens the “spiritual bridges” between Turkic peoples.
He also highlighted the high level of strategic partnership between Ashgabat and Baku, underlining that personal trust between the leaders of the two states serves as a solid foundation for expanding cooperation across all sectors.
According to Ambassador Gozalov, recent high-level mutual visits and diplomatic engagements have intensified bilateral dialogue and created a firm basis for further partnership.
The Ambassador also congratulated Turkmenistan on the 30th anniversary of its permanent neutrality. He noted that Azerbaijan highly values Turkmenistan’s neutral status, recognized by the UN, and reminded the audience that Azerbaijan has consistently co-authored UN resolutions regarding Turkmenistan’s neutrality from 1995 to 2025.
Speakers noted that the publication of this book in Azerbaijani is further evidence of the comprehensive development of traditionally friendly Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations.
It was specially emphasized that the work of the Hero-Arkadag, based on historical facts, vividly reveals the glorious path of the Turkmen people and their contribution to global culture and the spiritual heritage of great personalities. Participants also highlighted the book’s scientific value as a primary source for studying ancient Oghuz literature.
The participants expressed confidence that the Azerbaijani edition of “Hakyda göwheri” would become a significant contribution to the development of cultural dialogue and allow Azerbaijani readers to gain a deeper understanding of the spiritual heritage of the Turkmen people./// nCa, 22 December 2025
