On 19 October 2026, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Samarkand, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The sides positively assessed ongoing efforts to expand mutually beneficial cooperation. In this context, they noted that the C5+1 Presidential Summit held in Washington in November 2025 served as an important milestone in consolidating joint efforts.
To further expand and strengthen engagement, Meredov and Rubio outlined a schedule for upcoming key meetings and political consultations.
