Antalya’s spectacular Mediterranean coastline offers more than a scenic escape—it also sets the stage for major international sporting events. From the Turkish Airlines Open to the Alanya Triathlon, the city continues to strengthen its standing as a global sports destination. Now, the excitement builds as the World Winners Cup, the premier global beach soccer club competition, returns to its birthplace in Alanya—Antalya’s crown jewel of beach sports—seven years after its inaugural edition.
Organised by Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW) in collaboration with city stakeholders, the sixth edition of the World Winners Cup will bring together top beach soccer teams from across the world from 26 October to 1 November. The tournament will be held at the Alanya International Beach Sports Centre, recently recognised as an International Centre of Excellence (ICoE) by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), offering an exceptional experience for players and spectators alike.
44 Clubs, Five Continents, One Global Stage
The 2026 edition will see 44 clubs representing five continents compete for glory, with men’s and women’s teams taking to the sand in the same week. With its 3,300-seat grandstand and four main competition courts, the Alanya International Beach Sports Centre offers an impressive setting for the action. Dedicated lounges serve athletes and spectators, while professional lighting systems let the excitement continue into the evening, bringing beach soccer to life under the lights.
Typically welcoming around 800 athletes, team officials and members of the press each year, the World Winners Cup brings an international gathering to Alanya while taking the destination to audiences worldwide. With every match broadcast live in 100 countries, the tournament’s reach extends well beyond the Mediterranean coast, bringing the action into millions of homes. The stage is set for an extraordinary week of celebration, as 29 October, Türkiye’s Republic Day, coincides with the tournament dates, adding the vibrant energy of this special occasion to the stands.
Alanya: From Mediterranean Paradise to Global Beach Sports Hub
With more than 300 days of sunshine a year, Antalya offers a prolonged summer, inviting visitors to combine the excitement of the World Winners Cup with a relaxing Mediterranean escape. A favourite destination for millions of holidaymakers every year, Alanya is also the crown jewel of Antalya’s sports tourism. The combination of world-class infrastructure, favourable climate conditions and a year-round sporting calendar has strengthened Alanya’s reputation as a leading beach sports destination in Europe and the Mediterranean region. Growing international participation and an expanding roster of events are further advancing its global standing, with the Alanya International Beach Sports Centre at the heart of this progress. The World Winners Cup brings these strengths into the international spotlight, reinforcing Alanya’s appeal to athletes and sports enthusiasts from around the world. ///nCa, 26 October 2026 (in cooperation with the Embassy of Turkiye to Turkmenistan)
