On Wednesday, 9 September, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador of France to Turkmenistan, Ms. Aléna Grand, who presented her credentials to the head of state, TDH State News Agency reports.
France attaches great importance to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenistan, the diplomat noted, and taking the opportunity, conveyed greetings from President Emmanuel Macron to the head of state and the National Leader of the Turkmen people.
Conveying return wishes, the President stressed that France is one of Turkmenistan’s key partners in Europe. The country attaches great importance to developing cooperation with France in the trade, economic, energy, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
During the meeting, the effective cooperation between Turkmenistan and France was highlighted not only bilaterally, but also within international organizations, including the UN and the OSCE.
Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmen-French interaction is not limited to the intergovernmental level, but is also actively developing through the private sectors of both countries. At the same time, Turkmenistan’s readiness for the joint implementation of new initiatives in areas such as energy, transport and logistics infrastructure, science, and culture was reaffirmed.
The cultural sphere serves as an important component of Turkmen-French relations.
Ambassador Aléna Grand noted that it is a great honor for her to carry out a diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan and assured President Serdar Berdimuhamedov that she would make every effort to bring interstate cooperation to a qualitatively new level. /// nCa, 10 September 2026
