On 15 September 2026, during the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea and participation in the historic first “Central Asia – Republic of Korea” Summit in Seoul, significant agreements were reached to expand technological and business cooperation between the two countries.
One of the practical outcomes was the signing of an Agreement to establish the first Turkmen-Korean joint venture, “Ýerli Tor.” The agreement was forged during the Turkmen-Korean Business Forum between “Amatly Çözgüt,” one of Turkmenistan’s leading IT companies, and the Korean company “S&T System Inc.”
The project focuses on creating a domestic production base in Turkmenistan for modern servers, data storage systems, and networking equipment. The Korean side will provide technologies, technical solutions, and manufacturing expertise, while the Turkmen side will handle production management, necessary infrastructure, and product adaptation for the domestic market.
A key feature of “Ýerli Tor” is the phased localization of technological processes. The enterprise will carry out equipment assembly, configuration, testing, software integration, quality control, as well as warranty and post-warranty servicing.
Looking ahead, the project plans to further increase localization levels, transfer new technologies, and train Turkmen specialists. This will not only allow modern IT equipment to be manufactured within the country but will also build local professional and technological capabilities.
A strategic goal of the project is to supply government agencies, major enterprises, data centers, and other vital infrastructure facilities with modern, reliable IT solutions produced directly in Turkmenistan.
Another result of the business forum was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Individual Enterprise “Ojar Aziýa” and “S&T System Inc.” regarding cooperation in road infrastructure, security systems, and transport infrastructure management. These new agreements demonstrate the practical orientation of the Turkmen-Korean partnership, where joint manufacturing, localization, technology transfer, and the implementation of modern solutions in key sectors of Turkmenistan’s economy and infrastructure are playing an increasingly vital role. ///nCa, 15 September 2026
