A delegation from the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan took part in an international seminar focused on developing interregional transport connectivity between the European Union, Central Asia, the Black Sea region, and the South Caucasus.
The event, titled “Customs Administration under the Interregional Connectivity Agenda,” took place on 7–9 September in Warsaw. The forum was organized by the European Commission, the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and the National Revenue Administration of Poland. The seminar brought together representatives from 15 countries, as well as sector experts from the EU and UN.
The main objective of the meeting was to strengthen practical cooperation and optimize logistics along a key route — the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor.
Participants discussed in detail the implementation of international border control standards, the development of the “Single Window” mechanism, the streamlining of transit procedures using the digital eTIR system, and the modernization of risk management systems.
As part of the practical program, delegates were shown modern IT solutions, the operations of mobile units, and the technical capabilities of inspection and scanning complexes. Participants also visited the Warsaw Customs Office to exchange operational control practices.
Following the three-day discussions, experts identified key bottlenecks in international freight transport along the corridor and began drafting a Joint Action Plan to accelerate customs procedures and enhance security.
