Belarus and Turkmenistan maintain resilient trade and economic relations, driven by complementary economies and dynamically growing bilateral trade, according to Belarusian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Stanislav Chepurnoy.
“It is no exaggeration to say that our economies are largely complementary. This creates solid opportunities to further expand cooperation across various sectors, particularly in manufacturing, agriculture, transport infrastructure, and logistics,” the BELTA news agency quoted the head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Ashgabat as saying.
“Bilateral trade volume has been steadily increasing in recent years. Belarusian dairy and pharmaceutical products, as well as woodwork, remain in high demand in Turkmenistan. Concurrently, supplies from Turkmenistan to Belarus are also on the rise,” Ambassador Chepurnoy noted. He added that these reciprocal trade flows simplify logistics and optimize financial settlements. The Belarusian side is particularly interested in Turkmenistan’s seasonal produce, including fruits, vegetables, and nuts.
According to the envoy, Belarusian and Turkmen manufacturers have much to offer each other. This mutual interest is clearly visible during business missions and visits by Belarusian enterprise representatives to Turkmenistan for various general and specialized trade exhibitions and conventions.
With Turkmenistan heavily focusing on agricultural development, food security, and transport infrastructure modernization, Belarusian enterprises stand ready to offer their expertise, technologies, and experience, particularly in the agribusiness sector. A Turkmen delegation is currently planning a visit to the “Belagro” international trade fair, BELTA reports. /// nCa, 23 May 2026
