A specialized secondary school focusing on advanced foreign language studies is planned to open in Turkmenistan’s smart city Arkadag. The project for the new educational complex was presented to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, during his working visit to the city on 13 August.

The construction of the school is funded by the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship.

During his review of the project, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a number of comments and recommendations aimed at further improving the plans, with particular attention to the proper design and equipment of the educational facilities. In particular, instructions were given to equip language laboratories and classrooms in accordance with international best practices.

The meeting also addressed admission arrangements for the new school. It was noted that students will be admitted based on their abilities and age-specific characteristics, while the curriculum should be aligned with the requirements of the times and current educational standards.

To support further skill development, the school will offer extracurricular subject clubs. Parents will be able to track student discipline and academic progress via a digital monitoring system.

The complex will also feature an integrated 320-seat kindergarten.

During the meeting, Arkadag Mayor G. Mammedova reported on preparations for the school’s operational and administrative framework, as well as measures to draft and approve the regulations governing the institution.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of taking a responsible approach to managing the school’s financial resources and approving the admissions policies, curriculum, and subject offerings. /// nCa, 14 August 2026
