On 22 April 2025, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, visited the Rukh Ordo Cultural Center in Cholpon Ata during the Turkmen leader’s working visit to Kyrgyzstan.
Mirbek Mambetaliev, Minister of Culture, Information and Youth Policy, led a brief tour of the center, sharing insights into the history and creation of this open-air museum situated along the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul.
Following the tour, the distinguished guests attended an informal dinner. During a walk around the center’s grounds, they explored a pier designed in the shape of a national musical instrument, where a demonstration of komuz playing was presented. President Sadyr Japarov then gifted Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov a komuz, symbolizing Kyrgyz musical heritage.
The guests also tasted kurma tea while enjoying a showcase of traditional Kyrgyz treats.
