The development of Turkmenistan’s gas resources, regional energy connectivity and international technological cooperation were key themes at OGT 2026. Held in Ashgabat on 21–23 October, the conference and exhibition concluded with the signing of five bilateral documents with partners from China, Malaysia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
More than 1,700 delegates representing approximately 450 companies from 75 countries registered for the 31st forum. The business programme brought together senior government officials, energy company executives, investors, representatives of financial institutions, technology providers and industry experts.
Discussions on regional energy connectivity covered the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India gas pipeline and the role of natural gas in energy security, industrial development and economic growth.
Alongside export infrastructure, participants examined the phased development of the Galkynysh field, offshore exploration in the Caspian Sea and the development of gas processing and petrochemical industries.

The forum’s practical outcomes covered several areas: cooperation in the Caspian energy sector, oil and gas services and equipment, and the procurement of industrial products.
The technology programme focused on artificial intelligence, digital transformation and workforce development. Methane emissions reduction and energy efficiency were discussed as part of the environmental agenda.

The international exhibition and B2B and B2G meetings complemented the strategic and technical sessions, giving participants opportunities to present solutions and discuss potential cooperation.
OGT 2026 was organised by the State Concerns Turkmengaz and Turkmennebit and the State Corporation Turkmengeology, in cooperation with Turkmen Energy Forum, under the slogan “Energy. Partnership. Progress.” ///nCa, 26 October 2026 (the material was provided by OGT 2026 Organizers)
