A delegation from the Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS), led by Director General Mohamed Ahmed Musleh Al Harbi, paid a working visit to Turkmenistan.
In an interview with the ‘Turkmenistan’ newspaper, Al Harbi stated that the primary objective of the trip was to exchange experience and lay the foundation for a long-term partnership in breeding and preserving purebred horses.
During the visit, the UAE representatives held a series of meetings with heads and specialists of the country’s key relevant agencies. The delegation toured the infrastructure of the “Türkmen atlary” State Association, the Aba Annayev International Horse Breeding Academy, the Scientific-Production Center for Horse Breeding, and the Görogly State Equestrian Circus in Arkadag city.
“Our peoples have perfected the art of preserving purebred horses and training them over centuries. This long period, spanning timeless historical pages, has contributed to the formation of the best practices. From this perspective, to exchange experience and coordinate our efforts, we have much to learn from each other; we possess a rich reservoir of experience and capabilities to scientifically and methodologically raise these valuable animals with human-like characteristics while preserving breed purity,” emphasized Al Harbi.
Following the talks, the parties outlined priority areas for practical interaction.
According to the head of the EAHS, during the meetings, views were exchanged on Arabian horse pedigree recording, technical specialist training, and service provision in the equestrian sector, alongside discussions on a veterinary laboratory protocol and its implementation in Turkmenistan.
“In this regard, it is planned to strengthen the legal framework of cooperation, which will help determine our next steps. Additionally, key topics reviewed during the meetings included the registration and documentation of Arabian horses,” Al Harbi told.
In his view, “the Turkmen horse breeding school is exemplary.” “While Arabs consider the horse a sacred gift from God, Turkmens view it as close as family,” he stressed.
Special attention during the interview was devoted to promoting equestrian culture in the international arena.
The Director General of the EAHS expressed confidence that holding the World Championship in Equestrian Sports and Beauty Contest among Akhalteke horses in the Netherlands will be highly effective in once again broadly introducing Turkmen horses to European countries, as well as enriching Turkmenistan’s expertise in organizing world-class equestrian events. ///nCa, 10 August 2026
