Today in Ashgabat, within the framework of the third session of the “White City Ashgabat 2026” conference dedicated to advanced energy and digital systems for cities of the future, Lhomeau Thierry, President of “Ste SODIPP International”, delivered a report. His speech focused on the strategic prospects for cooperation between France and Turkmenistan, the global energy transition, and the role of efficient logistics in the modern world.
French Agro-Sector Has an Urgent Need for Turkmen Urea
One of the main announcements made by the head of the international group was the disclosure of an official mandate held on behalf of France’s largest fruit and vegetable cooperative. French agricultural producers express extreme interest in developing fertilizer supplies from Turkmenistan.
As an absolute priority, French business is considering the purchase of Turkmen urea-46 fertilizers. The company seeks to build a reliable and secure supply chain for chemical products between Turkmenistan and the European market.
To implement this large-scale project, Ste SODIPP International is seeking partnerships either with oil refineries for the purchase and supply of petrol, as well as large, highly significant volumes of fertilizers between Turkmenistan and France, or with partners in the field of logistics services to ensure these supplies between Turkmenistan, Europe, and, more specifically, France.
The ultimate goal of the initiative is to create a sustainable “East-West” energy bridge that will connect the producer and the European consumer into a single chain with full financial and operational support.
Energy Transition as a Strategic Opportunity
Lhomeau Thierry devoted a significant part of his speech to global changes in energy markets.
In his view, traditional distributors who can contribute and combine logistics expertise with clean technologies, creating integrated energy ecosystems, will become the leaders of tomorrow.
For Turkmenistan, this means an opportunity to turn gas into a lever for diversification. Turkmenistan is a producer with very important natural gas reserves on a global scale, as well as in everything related, of course, to the topic of urea and fertilizers in general.
Energy and Supply Chains: The Main Values of the 21st Century
As the President of “Ste SODIPP International” emphasized, supply chain management is an asset as crucial as the possession of resources. Turkmenistan, with its developing infrastructure and regional partners, is ideally positioned to become a key energy hub in the world.
The speaker drew a vivid analogy, noting that nowadays energy acts as the analogue of “new oil”, while logistics routes have turned into the main “pipelines” of the 21st century.
The speaker expressed regret that in Europe few people yet fully realize the scale of Turkmenistan’s energy potential.
Lhomeau Thierry delivered a key message: Central Asia is on the precipice of an energy revolution, and Turkmenistan is its epicenter. The opportunities are massive: modernization of gas infrastructure, large-scale deployment of renewable energy sources, the emergence of hydrogen as a new export vector, and public-private partnerships.
In Turkmenistan, where resources are abundant and political will is strong, investments in sustainable infrastructure and smart regional connectivity can position the country as a leader in clean energy in Central Asia, concluded the President of “Ste SODIPP International.” /// nCa, 25 May 2026
