On the sidelines of the Turkmen-Korean Business Forum in Seoul on 15 September 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, held a series of meetings with key representatives of the business and expert communities of the Republic of Korea, focusing on expanding bilateral socio-economic, scientific, and technological cooperation.
During talks with the Chairman of the Committee on Shared Growth of the Republic of Korea, Lee Dal Gon, the parties discussed prospects for further developing socio-economic interaction between the two states. Special emphasis was placed on expanding practical ties and establishing new contacts between business entities of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea.
Lee Dal-gon brings extensive public administration experience, having previously served as Minister of Public Administration and Security, Senior Secretary to the President for Political Affairs, and a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea.
The implementation of advanced technologies and the development of expert dialogue were central to the meeting between Rashid Meredov and Kim Jin Pyo, Director of the Global Innovation Research Institute of the Republic of Korea.
The sides reviewed promising areas for the Turkmen-Korean partnership in innovation and modern technologies. The discussion also covered strengthening engagement between the business and expert circles of the two countries.
