On 2 November, the Arkaç Shopping Center in Ashgabat hosted a vibrant and engaging event under the motto “Feel Korea in Arkaç!”. The celebration took place as part of the Korean Culture Week 2026, timed to coincide with the landmark first “Republic of Korea – Central Asia” Summit.
On this day, the Arkaç Shopping Center turned into a mini-portal to Seoul. Guests were introduced not only to Korea’s rich cultural heritage, but also to the dynamic rhythm of modern life in the Land of the Morning Calm.
The interactive zones generated special excitement. Crowds gathered at the booths of the King Sejong Institute and the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) program, drawing those who dream of mastering the Korean language or securing a prestigious scholarship to study at leading universities in the Republic of Korea.
However, theory quickly gave way to practical fun: visitors of all ages enthusiastically tried their hand at traditional Korean games — skillfully pitching arrows into narrow-necked jars in Tuho and engaging in spirited paper-folding battles in Ttakji-chigi.
The festive energy was further amplified by an interactive quiz organized by Samsung. Connoisseurs of Korean pop culture, technology, and traditions competed for branded prizes, injecting even more drive into the event.
The colorful gathering at Arkaç served as another warm thread strengthening the cultural and friendly bridges between Turkmenistan and Korea.
The day before, Ashgabat hosted a performance by the South Korean performance troupe Show Design Group (SDG). /// nCa, 3 November 2026
