The city of Mary hosted “Çäksiz göçüm” (“Move Without Limits”), an inclusive checkers tournament that brought together people of all ages and abilities. The event was organized by the “Däp-Dessur” economic society.
The tournament was timed to coincide with Mental Health Month and aimed to promote social inclusion, emotional well-being, and a culture of mutual support within the community.
The event drew over 40 participants, including children, youth, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities, such as those with visual impairments and wheelchair users. The primary goal of the tournament was to create a space of equal opportunity, fostering live communication and unity through intellectual sport.
Throughout the day, the venue was filled with a warm and respectful atmosphere. Representatives of different generations met across the checkers boards—schoolchildren played against experienced adults, while laughter, words of encouragement, and friendly conversation accompanied the intense matches.

The organizers emphasized that checkers served not only as an intellectual competition but also as a vital tool for communication, social adaptation, and strengthening mental health.
Winners and recipients of special nominations were awarded medals and diplomas, while all participants received certificates and commemorative gifts.
“Today, victory was won not only on the checkers board. The main triumph was that people of different ages and abilities came together, communicated, and supported one another,” the organizers noted.
The tournament was held in partnership with Däp-Dessur, Bold, and Däp.///nCa, 11 May 2026 (in cooperation with Däp-Dessur)
