President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov delivered a speech on December 12 at the international forum “Peace and Trust: Unity of Goals for a Sustainable Future,” dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust (2025), the International Day of Neutrality, and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.
In his remarks, President Japarov commended Turkmenistan’s significant role in advancing regional cooperation, particularly in the sphere of energy security across Central Asia and beyond. He emphasized that Turkmenistan’s gas and energy initiatives not only strengthen the reliability of energy supplies but also broaden markets and create new opportunities for mutually beneficial economic partnership.
Sadyr Japarov also noted the successful cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan in the field of electricity supplies.
The President paid special attention to the prospects for interaction in the transport and logistics sectors. He stated that Kyrgyzstan is ready to actively participate in the development of multimodal routes, the expansion of existing transport corridors, and the creation of new joint logistics chains.
“For our countries, the modernization of transport and the development of multimodal routes remain key tasks,” Japarov emphasized. In this context, he particularly highlighted the significance of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway construction project, as well as the Kambarata HPP-1 construction project as strategically important initiatives.
The head of Kyrgyzstan also noted Turkmenistan’s active role in strengthening the unique regional format—the Consultative Meeting of Heads of State of Central Asia. According to him, this mechanism of direct and trusting dialogue has become an important platform for discussing common challenges and developing coordinated approaches, which is especially in demand in the current conditions.
“We are convinced that our countries face a common task—to jointly strengthen peace, prevent conflicts, and promote sustainable development,” Sadyr Japarov stated, emphasizing Kyrgyzstan’s unwavering support for international efforts aimed at preserving stability.
The President recalled that an important step toward strengthening regional security was the successful completion this year of the legal formalization of Kyrgyzstan’s state borders with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. He noted that this result confirms the country’s commitment to a policy of peace and good neighborliness.
In conclusion, Sadyr Japarov expressed confidence that the joint efforts of the Central Asian states will continue to contribute to strengthening peace, trust, and good-neighborly relations in the region. ///nCa, 12 December 2025
