On 13 May, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, according to the Kremlin’s press service.
“Current issues regarding the further strengthening of the Russia-Turkmenistan strategic partnership and cooperation in trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian fields, among others, were discussed,” the statement read.
The parties emphasized the importance of the upcoming Meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State, scheduled for October under the chairmanship of Turkmenistan.
Today, Berdimuhamedov arrived in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, to participate in the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum.” ///nCa, 13 May 2026
