At the International Conference “Development of Construction, Industrial, Chemical and Energy Sectors of Turkmenistan” (CIET 2025) in Avaza, Managing Director of ‘Interbudmontazh’ Vladimir Petruk presented a portfolio of water management projects being implemented by the Ukrainian contractor in Turkmenistan.
The key focus is on upgrading water supply and wastewater infrastructure, including work on the strategic Karakum Canal.
Currently, Interbudmontazh is constructing a regulatory structure on the Karakum Canal – one of the world’s largest man-made waterways.
“In parallel, we are preparing a conceptual solution for the reconstruction of the Karakum Canal and the construction of hydraulic structures along it,” noted Petruk.
Digital Water Accounting in Partnership with Rubicon (Australia)
In collaboration with Australian company Rubicon – a global leader in water resource management – Interbudmontazh is introducing automated water control and metering systems. The technology enables:
– Real-time monitoring of water inflow and consumption;
– Optimization of water resource allocation;
– Minimization of losses due to filtration, evaporation, and other natural factors.
“This cooperation opens new opportunities for Turkmenistan’s agricultural sector by ensuring reliable access to water resources,” the speaker emphasized.
Microtunneling – The Future of Urban Utilities
The company proposes implementing microtunneling technology for constructing sewer and utility networks in Turkmenistan’s cities. The method delivers:
– Minimal disruption to urban landscapes;
– No road closures;
– Enhanced environmental safety.
Interbudmontazh has proven experience in Turkmenistan, having built (sewage water treatment plants) WWTP-300 and WWTP-50. These facilities are integral to urban infrastructure, providing:
- Stable operation of city utility systems;
- A closed-loop water treatment and reuse cycle for urban and agricultural needs, boosting ecological sustainability.
The company reaffirmed its readiness to invest resources and expertise in advancing Turkmenistan’s water sector, contributing to improved quality of life and sustainable urban infrastructure development.
