President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan signed three decrees on 9 October 2026, aimed at bolstering the healthcare system of Turkmenistan.
The first initiative orders the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry to establish a new, state-of-the-art Dental Center featuring 80 beds. Operating entirely on a self-financing basis, this subordinate facility is designed to modernize therapeutic and preventive care for dental and maxillofacial diseases in accordance with international standards and innovative technologies.
The second major directive focuses on upgrading specialized cancer treatment by transforming the existing Scientific and Clinical Center of Oncology. Under the new decree, this facility will cease operations to be completely rebuilt and restructured into a subordinate International Scientific and Clinical Center of Oncology. The upgraded institution will significantly expand its capacity to 500 beds, introducing advanced medical achievements and international standards to the nation’s oncological care system.
The third decree targets the expansion and modernization of pediatric care across the country by instructing the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry to establish a new International Pediatric Center. Built within the structure of the Directorate of International Medical Centers, this new facility will boast a capacity of 160 beds. The center will operate on a cost-effective basis, applying innovative technologies and international standards to further strengthen the material and technical base of pediatric care in the country. /// nCa, 10 October 2026
