On Saturday, August 29, the Public Organization “Young Naturalists” (Yash Tebigatchy), with the support of the Embassy of Israel in Turkmenistan, held the Eco-Event “Green Partnership” at Bilelik Hub in Ashgabat Mall.
The two-hour event brought together young people interested in environmental protection, innovation, and sustainable urban development. Its main objective was to cultivate progressive ecological thinking among the youth of Turkmenistan and inspire them to develop scalable and innovative ideas for creating greener, safer, and more sustainable cities.
The program featured interactive round tables, educational games, quizzes, discussions, and other engaging activities designed to encourage teamwork, creativity, and practical thinking.
The event also aimed to contribute to the development of a new generation of young environmental change-makers. More than 50 participants had the opportunity to learn about modern sustainability concepts and explore ways to turn environmental challenges into creative solutions.
Beyond its educational and creative impact, “Green Partnership” also served as a platform for strengthening cooperation and people-to-people connections between the Public Organization “Young Naturalists” and the Embassy of Israel in Turkmenistan, highlighting the importance of international partnership in promoting environmental awareness and sustainable development.
In his speech of Ambassador Ismail Khaldi, delivered by official of Embassy, stressed the similarity between Turkmenistan and Israel in their arid climate with their wide desert territories.
“50% of the land of the State of Israel is defined as desert. Therefore, since its establishment, Israel has been facing challenges arising from living in a desert environment. In the field of water, for example, Israel has developed pioneering technologies, such as precision agriculture technologies for desalination of water, and especially water reuse. By developing these technologies, the State of Israel reuses 87% of its wastewater, so today it is one of the world leaders in wastewater recycling”, the message said.
Since the 1950s, Israel has been sharing its knowledge of dealing with arid regions with countries around the world.
According to the Ambassador, creative solutions are needed to adapt to this life requiring a variety of technological tools, policy tools, regulation and training and enabling construction. But above all, this struggle cannot succeed without cooperation, commitment and understanding of the challenges we face.
“We, the Embassy of Israel, are happy to collaborate here with Yash Tabigatchy in this event, and encourage you to continue to take part in activities for a healthy, green and clean environment”, the message concluded.
The event featured cutting-edge eco-innovations alongside video presentations showcasing the nation’s rich natural landscapes. Additionally, participants engaged in interactive discussions on waste reduction and upcycling.
A roundtable focused on finding rapid and effective solutions to environmental issues sparked great interest among attendees. Its program included the “Green Impulse” eco-flashmob and a team intellectual trivia contest testing environmental knowledge.
