On 7 May, during the official visit of the Georgian delegation to Ashgabat, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Nokerguly Atagulyev, met with the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili.
During the talks, the parties discussed a wide range of opportunities for deepening economic cooperation between the two countries. Particular emphasis was placed on the role of foreign trade and the implementation of regional initiatives carried out with the active participation of Georgia and Turkmenistan.
A key topic of discussion was Georgia’s transit potential. The Turkmen side expressed interest in establishing warehousing and logistics infrastructure based at Georgian ports. Additionally, readiness was voiced for cooperation in the digital transformation of the maritime sector, specifically regarding the implementation of the National Maritime Single Window (NMSW) system.
Mariam Kvrivishvili emphasized that Georgia aims to become a regional digital hub, connecting Europe and Asia through advanced infrastructure and the Black Sea submarine cable project.
The sides also touched upon cooperation in the field of tourism.
