A group of customs officials made a working visit to the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan from October 16 to 21, 2022, with the aim of comparing the statistics on the two nations’ foreign trade.
The Protocol between the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan on the exchange of information on the movement of goods in mutual trade dated 14 July, 2022 serves as the regulatory basis for the comparative analysis of data.
The comparison of import and export data for various types of grouping of goods is aimed at identifying and assessing possible discrepancies, which in turn contributes to obtaining mutually agreed sets of data on trade between the two countries.
Based on the analysis, the parties fully agreed on the data on trade flows, and a corresponding document was signed.
The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan in January-August 2022 increased by 2.7% year-on-year and totaled US $533.5 million. ///nCa, 27 October 2022
