In 2026, SLB (formerly known as Schlumberger) celebrates the 100th anniversary of its global operations. Since its founding in Paris on July 1, 1926, SLB has built a strong legacy—becoming a leader in innovation and technology and contributing to the progress of the energy industry worldwide. This centennial reflects not only the company’s resilience and performance, but above all the dedication and expertise of our people.
Alongside investments in technology, SLB consistently invests in people—developing capabilities and training engineers, supervisors, technicians, and mechanics to world-class standards. Through structured learning and hands-on development, we enable high levels of quality, reliability, and safety.
Over the past 20 years, SLB has supported the development of the energy sector in Turkmenistan by delivering services based on advanced technologies and maintaining long-term partnerships with our customers. We continue to invest locally—through facilities and operational capabilities such as chemical product warehouses, modern laboratories, workshops, and equipment—and by developing local talent to sustain service quality and meet HSE requirements. During this period, SLB has trained more than 400 local employees, strengthened long-term capability and supporting the transfer of best practices.
SLB has introduced and applied advanced drilling technologies in Turkmenistan, including Stethoscope* (formation pressure measurements while drilling) and the PowerDrive Vortex* rotary steerable system, helping address challenges associated with complex geological conditions in drilling operations.
In addition, SLB already delivers comprehensive downhole sand management services in our projects to prevent sand production and to ensure reliable, safe, and stable well performance. These solutions include sand control design and selection, installation support, sand control completions, screens and filtration-based solutions, gravel pack operations, high-reliability downhole equipment, and ongoing monitoring and service support to sustain well productivity.
