
The 6th World Nomad Games officially kicked off on 31 August 2026 with an opening ceremony at the Bishkek Arena in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic.
Athletes from over 100 countries are participating in this premier international sports and cultural showcase. The event blends cultural programs, ethnosports, and scientific forums, with competition across 43 traditional disciplines—including national wrestling, horse racing, archery, and traditional board games.

Turkmenistan’s national delegation is competing across several events, highlighting their skills in traditional Turkmen wrestling (Goresh) and other disciplines.

Running from 31 August to 6 September, the Games are primarily hosted in the coastal city of Cholpon-Ata. As part of the festivities, an ethno-village of more than 300 traditional yurts has been constructed in the Kyrchyn Gorge to showcase Kyrgyz heritage, folk arts, crafts, and nomadic traditions.
