A visit to the Republic of Belarus by a delegation from the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Supporting Children in Need of Guardianship is currently being prepared to further develop bilateral cooperation. This was announced by the Ambassador of Belarus to Turkmenistan, Stanislav Chepurnoy, in his congratulatory message marking the Foundation’s fifth anniversary.
The Ambassador noted that the itinerary includes visits to the Belarusian Children’s Fund and the Republican Rehabilitation Center for Disabled Children. The primary goals of the visit are professional exchange of experience and the identification of new vectors for interaction.
The past year was marked by several key events that strengthened Turkmen-Belarusian humanitarian ties:
In March 2025, Lyudmila Kondrashova, Chairperson of the Board of the Belarusian Children’s Fund and head of the Republican Rehabilitation Center for Disabled Children, participated in the high-level international conference “Year of Peace and Trust: Development of International Activities for Children.”
In December 2025, she attended the forum “The Role of Women in Modern Society: Developing International Cooperation towards Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.”
Ambassador Chepurnoy emphasized that these conferences, chaired by Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice President for Medical Affairs of the Charity Foundation, provided a platform for productive dialogue between international organizations and government bodies. “These meetings provided a significant impetus for international cooperation and practical interaction in respective fields,” he stated.
Collaborative efforts are already yielding tangible results. The diplomat recalled that the Belarusian side presented the Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Center in the city of Arkadag with a specialized developmental complex designed to improve fine motor skills and cognitive thinking, along with samples of children’s orthopedic footwear.
In July 2025, Ambassador Chepurnoy met with Oguljahan Atabayeva to discuss practical cooperation in the treatment, rehabilitation, and socialization of children in need of assistance.
Furthermore, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belarus, Nazarguly Shagulyev, held meetings in Minsk throughout 2025 with Lyudmila Kondrashova and visited the Republican Rehabilitation Center for Disabled Children to further study Belarusian methodologies. ///nCa, 1 April 2026
