On 27 August 2026, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Turkmenistan Petra Dachtler. The Ambassador presented copies of her credentials to the Turkmen side, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Meredov congratulated the Ambassador on her appointment to the high post and wished her success in carrying out her diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed key aspects of Turkmen-German ties in political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian fields.
It was particularly noted that contacts at the highest level provide the main impetus to the development of interstate relations.
The meeting highlighted the effectiveness of the partnership between the two countries within the framework of the UN and the EU, as well as in the Central Asia – Germany format.
The diplomats noted the fruitful nature of long-standing trade and economic relations. In this context, the active work of the German Eastern Business Association (Ostausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft) was emphasized.
The parties also discussed issues regarding the development of cooperation in culture, healthcare, and education. /// nCa, 27 August 2026
