President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon participated in the International Forum of Peace and Trust in Ashgabat, where he called on the global community to consolidate efforts in the face of global challenges.
Rahmon emphasized the complexity of the current geopolitical situation, where competition is intensifying and norms of international law are weakening. According to him, the growth of global challenges and threats is leading to a slowdown in the pace of economic and social development.
“Peace and trust play a crucial role in advancing international relations, reducing threats and risks, and creating favorable conditions for cooperation and sustainable development on the global stage,” he stated.
The leader of Tajikistan noted that ensuring these values allows the international community to effectively solve complex problems in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and shared responsibility.
He paid special attention to environmental threats, such as climate change, glacier melting, and environmental pollution, which require consolidated efforts from all countries.
Emomali Rahmon recalled Tajikistan’s contribution to global initiatives, including the Dushanbe Processes on water resources and counter-terrorism.
“Tajikistan consistently supports all initiatives to strengthen peace and security in the world,” he emphasized. In this context, the president once again mentioned Tajikistan’s proposal to declare the “Decade of Strengthening Peace for the Sake of Future Generations”, put forward last year at the UN.
In conclusion of his speech, the President of Tajikistan called the triumph of peace a “guarantee of ensuring justice, equality, and respect for human rights and freedoms.”
He stressed that the global community must treat this value with care, relying on trust, dialogue, and cooperation.
Emomali Rahmon assured that Tajikistan is ready to continue contributing to ensuring security and sustainable development, using diplomatic traditions, constructive dialogue, and peaceful means of resolving conflicts. ///nCa, 12 December 2025
