Following the results of the summit talks in Ashgabat on 21 October, the heads of the customs services of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of personnel training and a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of prevention and detection of suspicious financial transactions by the parties.
Under the MoUs, the parties will exchange documents and information on committed or suspected facts of illegal withdrawal of funds abroad, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan reports.
Cooperation of customs services in the field of personnel training will be organized on the basis of educational institutions of the parties. The memorandum provides for cooperation in the following areas: exchange of information on the training system, planning and organization of the educational process; organization of joint educational and scientific events, conducting training seminars.
The Basic Intergovernmental Agreement between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan on mutual assistance in customs field was signed on 8 October 2015. ///nCa, 27 October 2022
