Turkmenistan and Tajikistan are looking to strengthen ties between their scientific and expert-analytical communities. The topic was discussed at a bilateral meeting between Aimyrat Gochmyradov, Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Tajikistan, and Khayridin Usmonzoda, Director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to Center’s press release, the meeting covered a wide range of issues centered on developing scientific and expert-analytical ties as part of the broader expansion of bilateral relations between the two countries.
Particular attention was given to strengthening cooperation between research institutions, think tanks, and expert communities. Promising areas identified include joint scientific research, preparation of analytical materials, and the organization of conferences, roundtables, seminars, and other events.
Participants also stressed the need for closer contact between specialists and researchers working on international relations, regional development, economics, security, and other relevant fields. Both sides noted that regular exchange of expert assessments and research findings could deepen understanding of processes underway in the region and on the international stage.
The discussion also touched on the broader development of interstate ties within regional cooperation. The two sides noted that Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, given their substantial potential for cooperation, are interested in expanding their partnership based on mutual respect, equality, and shared interest.
Closing the meeting, both sides emphasized that continuing such meetings and dialogue would help further strengthen cooperation between the scientific and analytical agencies of the two countries.///nCa, 27 August 2026
