Construction of a new Dental Centre is nearing completion in Ashgabat, with innovative technologies and artificial intelligence integrated into its medical equipment, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH) reports.
On Wednesday, 26 August, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited the facility under construction, where Minister of Health and Medical Industry M. Gayypov briefed him on the progress of the work.
The new facility will specialise in dental care as well as maxillofacial surgery.
The Dental Centre is being equipped with advanced medical technology manufactured in Germany, Japan and the United States. Its operations are expected to be carried out in cooperation with leading international clinics.
The Centre will include a range of departments, including radiology, endoscopy, clinical laboratory services, functional diagnostics, surgery and sterilisation with several operating theatres, anaesthesiology and intensive care, physiotherapy, as well as pharmacy facilities.
The equipment will enable data to be reprocessed using AI, helping ensure a high level of reliability in results during complex maxillofacial surgical procedures.
In the therapeutic department, workflows will be supported by a computerised system that will enable online communication with other departments during operations and the immediate transfer of patient data.
The facility’s advanced equipment, including digital medicine and AI technologies, will allow a wide range of procedures to be performed efficiently and to a high standard. These will include safe anaesthesia of the treatment area, tooth extraction and filling, early diagnosis and timely treatment of diseases of the oral cavity and palate, dental prosthetics and implants, orthodontic correction of the dentition and maxillofacial defects, reconstructive surgery, as well as the production and fitting of prostheses with individually matched colouring.
The Centre will also have digital dental microscopes, which are widely used in treating damage to the crowns and roots of teeth and in preventing complications.
The Implantology Department will feature advanced equipment, including AI-powered 3D scanning systems. These devices are designed to produce highly accurate and detailed images using digital technology.
The technologies will also enable rapid analysis of large volumes of data, including precise measurements of the position, angles and distances between implants.
The dental laboratory, designed to accommodate 45 specialists, will feature digital control systems, modern computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) software, as well as equipment for automated 3D model printing and cleaning.
An AI system integrated into the laboratory’s technological complexes will help ensure greater design precision. The laboratory will be able to produce complex implant-supported prostheses within a short timeframe.
After inspecting the facility, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of ensuring that doctors use the medical equipment properly, noting that this would be essential to maintaining its effective operation over the long term. Specialists working directly with the equipment should have the necessary professional skills and competencies, he said.
In this context, the President emphasized the need to coordinate the Centre’s work with the Myrat Garryyev State Medical University of Turkmenistan in order to ensure the facility is staffed with highly qualified professionals.
The Dental Centre will be designed to receive several patients simultaneously. The President stressed the need to ensure that patients are admitted and served promptly.
Inspecting the inpatient wards, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted the importance of providing patients with appropriate comfort before and after surgery.
The new Dental Centre is scheduled to open on 10 October, Health and Medical Industry Workers’ Day.
The opening of other modern healthcare facilities — the International Pediatric Centre and an Oncology Centre — is also planned for the same date. ///nCa, 27 August 2026
