Turkmenistan is strengthening its healthcare positions by entering into strategic agreements with regional partners. Recent arrangements with Turkish and Uzbek entities aim to secure the country’s medical supplies and train specialized personnel.
The Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan has concluded a major agreement with the leading Turkish company Turk İlaç ve Serum Sanayi A.Ş. According to data from the Turkish public disclosure platform, the contract for the purchase of vital serums and medicines amounts to $4,994,137.50. The official order has already been received by the manufacturer.
According to the report, the full completion of payment processes and product shipments is scheduled for February 2026.
In addition, Turkmenistan is developing close cooperation with Uzbekistan. The Turkmen organization Altyn Kanun signed an agreement with the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan and the Pharmaceutical Technical University.
The document covers several critical areas:
- Trade Operations: The parties agreed on joint efforts regarding the purchase, export, and import of pharmaceutical products manufactured in both countries.
- Educational Exchange: Turkmen citizens will have the opportunity to receive professional education at the Pharmaceutical Technical University of Uzbekistan.
The implementation of these initiatives demonstrates Turkmenistan’s comprehensive approach to developing its national healthcare system: from providing the population with modern medicines today to investing in the training of specialists who will shape the industry tomorrow. ///nCa, 26 December 2025
