The 16th meeting of the Turkmen-Japanese and Japanese-Turkmen Committees for Economic Cooperation will take place in Tokyo from 14 to 16 December 2026. The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan reports on the preparations for the upcoming forum.
Key issues related to further promoting bilateral cooperation were discussed on 17 August 2026 during a meeting between Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan A. Bayramov and newly appointed President of the Japan business association (ROTOBO) Mr. Y. Kanehana.
In addition to organizational aspects of the December committee meeting, the parties exchanged views on implementing joint projects in the field of the circular economy, which has been highlighted as one of the new priority areas of Turkmen-Japanese economic partnership.
The Japan business association ROTOBO is a key Japanese organization promoting the development of trade and investment ties with Eurasian and Central Asian countries.
ROTOBO’s cooperation with Turkmenistan is systematic and long-term. The Economic Cooperation Department of ROTOBO acts as the secretariat of the Japanese-Turkmen Committee for Economic Cooperation, ensuring coordination between government bodies and major Japanese corporations.
The association regularly organizes business dialogues in the “Central Asia – Japan” format, bringing together diplomatic missions and business circles. /// nCa, 18 August 2026
