President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Tuesday accepted the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Lee Won-jae, marking a new phase in the countries’ expanding economic partnership.
The meeting focused primarily on large-scale industrial cooperation, with particular attention to projects involving Daewoo Engineering & Construction in Turkmenistan’s chemical sector. The President praised the company’s contribution, describing it as an example of productive bilateral engagement. Looking ahead, both sides highlighted the importance of the upcoming Central Asia–Republic of Korea forum scheduled for September, which is expected to provide fresh momentum to regional and multilateral cooperation.
Ambassador Lee expressed appreciation for Turkmenistan’s favorable investment climate and pointed to growing interest in Korean language education and cultural exchange initiatives within the country.
