The Goturdepe Gas Compressor Station, operated by the Turkmennebit [Turkmen Oil] State Concern, continues to deliver impressive results, reinforcing its strategic role in advancing Turkmenistan’s oil and gas sector. As reported by Nebit-Gaz, the official publication of the country’s Fuel and Energy Complex, the station exemplifies the successful integration of modern technology and ecological awareness.
In recent years, the gas lift method has become the primary technique for oil extraction across Turkmennebit-operated fields. The Goturdepe station stands as a testament to the method’s efficiency: over 500 wells at the Goturdepe field in Balkan province (western Turkmenistan) currently utilize this technology, significantly boosting production volumes.
The station’s compressor unit has a daily capacity of 12 million cubic meters of natural gas. Equipped with advanced electronic and automated control systems, it ensures precise and reliable operation.
In January-July 2025, the gas lift method enabled the production of more than 1.4 billion cubic meters of gas and over 680 thousand tons of oil at the Goturdepe field.
Beyond hydrocarbon extraction, the station successfully operates a carbon dioxide (CO2) production facility, which uses the plant’s flue gas as raw material.
With a daily output of one ton, the plant contributes to both industrial and environmental objectives. CO₂ produced here is used for fire suppression at compressor stations and in the food industry for carbonated beverages. ///nCa, 5 September 2025
