President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov will participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit, scheduled for 31 August – 1 September 2025, in Tianjin, northern China. This was reported by Xinhua, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.
The summit, hosted by China for the fifth time, is set to be the most significant in the SCO’s history. The event, taking place on the banks of the Haihe River, will bring together more than 20 heads of state and representatives from 10 international organizations, including the United Nations, CIS, ASEAN, CSTO, ECO, CICA, the Eurasian Economic Commission, and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
Key agenda items include reviewing the SCO’s achievements, developing a roadmap for the organization’s growth over the next decade, and strengthening cooperation in security, economy, and culture. Participants will adopt the Tianjin Declaration, approve the SCO Development Strategy until 2035, and issue a statement commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War and the establishment of the United Nations. Additionally, documents aimed at enhancing security, economic growth, and cultural exchange will be signed.
China hopes the Tianjin Summit will enable SCO member states to achieve political consensus, deepen cooperation, and formulate a unified stance to address global challenges. The organization aims to foster a stable and inclusive environment to ensure peace, security, and prosperity in the region, promoting harmony and friendship among its peoples. ///nCa, 26 August 2025
