The President of Turkmenistan has signed an executive order aimed at ensuring the timely commissioning of key industrial and social infrastructure projects scheduled for 2026. The directive is designed to guarantee the fulfillment of national investment plans, create new regional jobs, and enhance the overall well-being of the population.
According to the order, the construction monitoring system will be intensified across several levels:
- Personal Accountability: Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, along with the governors of the provinces and the city of Ashgabat, have been instructed to establish rigorous control over the schedules and quality of work for projects slated for completion this year.
- Technical Supervision: The Ministry of Construction and Architecture is tasked with increasing site inspections to ensure structural quality. The Ministry must also approve monthly commissioning schedules and integrate these dates into the national calendar of celebratory and socially significant events.
- Financial Reporting: The Ministry of Finance and Economy, in collaboration with regional administrations, is mandated to prepare monthly progress reports for all construction sites. These reports will be submitted to the relevant Deputy Chairmen for real-time analysis and intervention.
These measures are part of a large-scale program to modernize the country’s industrial potential and expand its social infrastructure.
The “Program for the Socio-Economic Development and Investment of Turkmenistan for 2026” defines the key macroeconomic indicators, production targets, and capital investment volumes for the current year.
Specifically, the 2026 development plan envisions a massive expansion of housing and social services. Key targets include the commissioning of over 900,000 square meters of residential living space, the construction of several new facilities within the healthcare and education systems.///nCa, 16 February 2026
