Turkmenistan has sent a humanitarian aid shipment to the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The timing of this initiative coincides with the holy month of Ramadan and the Night of Power (Laylat-ul-Qadr), underscoring its profound spiritual and humanitarian significance.
The humanitarian aid is provided on behalf of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship. It is addressed, first and foremost, to the younger generation of the neighboring country.
The humanitarian cargo includes a wide range of medicines, medical supplies, and other products essential for supporting the health and well-being of children.
This gesture continues a long-standing Turkmen tradition of providing support to those in need. Rooted in the ancient values of humanism, good neighborliness, and mutual support, Turkmenistan regularly sends such cargoes to friendly and neighboring countries, especially during challenging times.
Previously, humanitarian cargoes on behalf of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation have been sent to Afghanistan (including after devastating earthquakes — medicines, medical supplies, textiles, and food), to the State of Palestine (medicines, children’s clothing, bedding, and food products), to the Republic of Türkiye (following an earthquake), to Ukraine, the Russian Federation, and other countries.
Each such step emphasizes that, for the Turkmen people, helping children and the civilian population is not a one-time action but a permanent principle of foreign policy. ///nCa, 15 March 2026
