The Graduate School of the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS) is announcing the recruitment of students for a special program for the fall and spring semesters of the 2026–2027 academic year. This was reported by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Turkmenistan.
The programs offered include Master’s degrees (2 years) and Doctoral degrees (3 years).
The Graduate School of the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS), established in 1980, is a leading educational institution in South Korea specializing in postgraduate studies in the field of Korean Studies. The school offers programs in language, history, culture, and art, including grants for international students and specialized courses.
Applications can be submitted online. Вeadlines:
- For the Fall 2026 intake (studies commence on 1 September 2026): from 9 March 2026 to 20 March 2026.
- For the Spring 2027 intake (studies commence on 1 March 2027): from 31 August 2026 to 11 September 2026.
There are specific benefits for international students. First, they are fully exempt from tuition fees for the entire duration of their studies.
Second, 15 freshmen will be awarded a government study-abroad scholarship for one year (monthly stipend of 800,000 KRW).
