Turkmen Energy Forum representatives took part in International Energy Week and the London Energy Forum in February, using the platforms to discuss the evolving balance between energy security and decarbonisation with global industry leaders.
A key theme across discussions was the continued role of natural gas in Asia’s transition. Experts highlighted that for rapidly developing economies such as China and India, replacing coal with cleaner fuels remains the fastest way to reduce emissions while sustaining economic growth. Turkmen gas exports to China were cited as a practical example of this approach.

Participants also discussed progress on the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) pipeline, including construction on the Serhetabat–Herat section. The project is expected to strengthen regional connectivity and support cleaner energy supply to South Asia.
Beyond hydrocarbons, attention was given to electrification, renewable integration and emerging technologies such as fusion research and industrial robotics, reflecting the diversification of the energy sector.

Investment opportunities in gas processing, offshore development, digital energy solutions and renewable projects were also presented to forum participants, with invitation to international partners to continue dialogue at upcoming energy events in Ashgabat.
The meetings highlighted the country’s positioning as both a supplier of transition fuels and a participant in the broader technological transformation of Eurasia’s energy systems. ///nCa, 20 February 2026 (the material was provided by Turkmen Energy Forum)
