On 17 February 2026, the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, D. Gulmanova, accepted the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of Indonesia to Turkmenistan, Rolliansyah Soemirat (with residence in Tehran).
The diplomat was briefed on the key areas of Turkmenistan’s domestic and foreign policy, as well as the activities of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and future opportunities for bilateral cooperation. In particular, the prospects for developing cooperation in science and education were noted. It was emphasized that the number of Turkmen students studying in Indonesia is steadily growing, which will serve as an incentive for the further strengthening of friendly ties between the two countries in the future.
The parties also noted the expediency of developing political-diplomatic relations under modern conditions and intensifying partnerships in trade, economic, scientific, educational, cultural-humanitarian, tourism, and parliamentary spheres. Along with this, the existence of broad opportunities for exchanging experience in the field of lawmaking was highlighted.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and emphasized that it is a great honor for him to represent his country in Turkmenistan, a nation widely known on the world stage for its peace-loving policy.
Meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan
On the same day, Ambassador Rolliansyah Soemirat presented copies of his credentials to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ahmet Gurbanov.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister expressed readiness to provide the diplomat with comprehensive assistance and support in his activities aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The sides discussed the current state and prospects for developing interaction in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian fields.
Particular attention was paid to partnership on the international stage. The parties expressed their readiness to continue the practice of mutual support for initiatives proposed within the framework of the UN.
