Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held a meeting in Dubai with the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Director General of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The sides noted the constructive nature of bilateral cooperation in the gas industry and emphasized its steady development in recent years. They reviewed the progress of ongoing joint projects and discussed promising areas of partnership aimed at further expanding interaction.
“An agreement was reached to further develop and strengthen cooperation through regular meetings and consultations between representatives of the two countries. This will ensure consistent interaction on priority areas,” the Turkmen Foreign Ministry press release said.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Turkmen delegation’s participation in the World Governments Summit, which opened in Dubai on 3 February and will run until 5 February. The forum is dedicated to issues of global governance, the development of artificial intelligence technologies, climate change, and the coordination of efforts to address economic challenges.
Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UAE in the energy sector, including the gas industry, has been actively developing in recent years. In particular, in 2025, ADNOC opened its office in Ashgabat and signed strategic agreements on the development of gas blocks in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea, marking an important step in strengthening partnership between the two countries in the field of hydrocarbon extraction and supply. /// nCa, 4 February 2026
