On 26 February 2026, a bilateral meeting took place at Lancaster House in London between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and the UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, Ms. Yvette Cooper. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Stephen Doughty, Minister for Europe, North America, and Overseas Territories, also participated in the talks.
During the meeting, the diplomats discussed a wide range of issues concerning bilateral cooperation, the regional agenda, and pressing international topics.
The parties reviewed the development of economic partnerships, specifically focusing on green technologies, digitalization, and transport, as well as the expansion of cultural and humanitarian ties.
Turkmenistan reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to resolving all international issues solely through peaceful political and diplomatic means, based on the norms of international law and the UN Charter.
Concluding the talks, both sides confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening the Turkmen-British partnership and discussed the prospects for organizing high-level visits in the near future. /// nCa, 27 February 2026
