On 23 January 2026, a meeting was held at the Parliament of Georgia between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Georgia, D. Seyitmammedov, and the Chairman of the Procedural Issues Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, who also serves as the Chairman of the Georgia-Turkmenistan Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group, Mr. D. Matikashvili.
During the meeting, the parties noted the high level of bilateral relations and reviewed the prospects for cooperation in political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as within the framework of international organizations.
The participants noted the active growth of Turkmen-Georgian relations along parliamentary lines. They emphasized the vital role of high-level visits and active engagement between parliamentarians, which contribute to strengthening mutual trust and the exchange of professional experience.
Particular attention was paid to the further development of cooperation between inter-parliamentary friendship groups, which serve as an essential tool for promoting constructive and sustainable interstate dialogue.
