A practical outcome of the Turkmenistan–European Union Business Forum, held in Ashgabat on 26 March 2026, was the signing of documents aimed at strengthening climate cooperation.
The Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan, the State Concern “Turkmengas,” and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) signed a Protocol of Amendment to the existing Memorandum of Understanding.
According to the new agreements, the implementation of the joint project “European Union (EU) for a Green Turkmenistan: Policy Dialogue and Climate Action” will be extended for an additional year.
In addition to the extension, the project received additional financial support: a top-up of €2 million has been allocated for the implementation of environmental initiatives. ///nCa, 26 March 2026
